It has been proven that the success of every business in the corporate world depends on the good performance of its staff. We also understand that capacity building and dedication are key factors for achieving good performance. With this in mind, OMA Togo organised the Certificate of Aptitude for Safe Driving (CACES) Training for its operations team from February 6th to 25th, 2023.
This training was initiated by the HR Department in collaboration with the Country Manager, who also served as the sponsor for the training.
The training was conducted by expert trainers from the “Pan-African Port Training Centre” of Bolloré Transport and Logistics Côte d’Ivoire. It took place at the OMA Togo logistics base in Avépozo.
The training focused on categories 3 (trolleys of less than 6 tonnes) and 4 (trolleys of more than 6 tonnes) forklifts. A total of ten (10) participants were divided into 3 groups for the training. The first two groups consisted of former forklift operators, while the third group consisted of beginners. The Country Manager also actively participated in the training.
The objective of the training was to ensure that participants learn how to effectively operate the trolleys and to update and strengthen their skills while adhering to safety rules. Upon completion, the participants obtained the Certificate of Fitness to Drive in Safety for categories 3 and 4 forklifts.
All the training participants expressed their appreciation to the trainers for a job well done. The knowledge gained from the training will enable the operations team to execute tasks with minimal errors and risks, in line with the company’s health and safety policy.
